چکیده

This paper presents several novel structures for conversion between arbitrary sampling rates. The method allows arbitrary number of zeros at multiples of both input and output sampling rates, thus it has both good anti-imaging and good anti-aliasing properties. The novel structures are derived from continuous-time equivalents of CIC and modified comb filters. The implementation can be based on either the modified Farrow or transposed modified Farrow structure. By choosing one of these two alternatives appropriately, it is possible to shift most of the operations to lower sampling rate. Furthermore, it is possible to improve frequency domain performance by choosing continuous-time equivalent of the modified comb filter. In this way, we obtain very efficient filters for arbitrary sampling rate conversion, which are optimized directly in digital domain.

Continuous-time Signal Processing Based on Polynomial Approximation

A new approach for continuous-time processing of a discrete-time signal is proposed. This approach is based on simple modifications of the Farrow structure, which is a polynomial-based interpolation technique employing discrete-time filters for enabling arbitrary resampling of a time series. In this paper, an extension of the Farrow structure for other time-domain operations used for signal ana...

Efficient implementation of low time complexity and pipelined bit-parallel polynomial basis multiplier over binary finite fields

This paper presents two efficient implementations of fast and pipelined bit-parallel polynomial basis multipliers over GF (2m) by irreducible pentanomials and trinomials. The architecture of the first multiplier is based on a parallel and independent computation of powers of the polynomial variable. In the second structure only even powers of the polynomial variable are used. The par...

Low-Pass Filter Design using Locally Weighted Polynomial Regression and Discrete Prolate Spheroidal Sequences

The paper concerns the design of nonparametric low-pass filters that have the property of reproducing a polynomial of a given degree. Two approaches are considered. The first is locally weighted polynomial regression (LWPR), which leads to linear filters depending on three parameters: the bandwidth, the order of the fitting polynomial, and the kernel. We find a remarkable linear (hyperbolic) re...

Line of Sight (LOS) rate estimation in strap down seekers using discrete-time extended state observer.

The line of sight (LOS) rate is a parameter that is needed to calculate the acceleration applied to missiles by the proportional guidance laws in order to hit the target. This rate is usually measured using gimbaled seekers. However, if the type of missile seeker be strap down, the LOS rate must be calculated from deriving the missile's seeker output angles or estimation methodes. The derivatio...

DISCRETE AND CONTINUOUS SIZING OPTIMIZATION OF LARGE-SCALE TRUSS STRUCTURES USING DE-MEDT ALGORITHM

Design optimization of structures with discrete and continuous search spaces is a complex optimization problem with lots of local optima. Metaheuristic optimization algorithms, due to not requiring gradient information of the objective function, are efficient tools for solving these problems at a reasonable computational time. In this paper, the Doppler Effect-Mean Euclidian Distance Threshold ...
